Title: Where to mount a roll bar in a 600 ?
Post by: DaveA on January 20, 2007, 11:47:36 PM
Hi

where is the best place to  mount a bolt in roll bar ?

Do the bars get in the way of your head :)
I have been in some other cars and you hit your head (OUCH) on the roll bar  if you are driving on a rough road,
it even had the rubber foam cover on it

Any ideas or pictures /

thanks

dave

The further back you put it the less likely you will hit your head on a bumpy road, but the more likely the roof will collapse and hit your head in a rollover.
Maybe that's why people use cages. He's a link to a sketch for one for a Fiat Punto

thanks I saw that , but it really does not show where it mounts to ,

I would think on the back parcel tray where the big bolts come thru would be the strongest place,

but then where for the hoop over your head ?

I think a full cage is more than  I want to do   :)

I do rollcages this way. It is designed for our racing regulations. I think that the main console is more in rear that OMP rollcage for example because i am little bit taller so i dont want to hits to my head. But the main thing is... if you have rollcages in your car you have to use helmet.

you but mount it  after the ground plate up ,onthe place where normale the rear seat is .With the new seat and when you are +1m80 you dont sit well in a 600 .PS this is same in 500 type body
