Title: fiat 600 gearbox conversion to 5 speed.
Post by: Denver on June 29, 2005, 01:48:49 PM
I am wanting to convert my 4 speed box to a 5 speed and have heard of kits that can be added to the 4 speed box. Are these reliable/as good? Where would I find one? Or is there a abetter solution?

Greg Schmidt's tip's and tricks has nice explainations of these changes but i remember the 5 speed was a special item requiring an extra long case and modification to the body of the car for clearance. There do exsist short box five speed trannies but I have only seen one from an early Abarth.
