I've got a 903 motor running in my 600D. I used seals for a 600 when I assembled the motor. The front seal behind the crank pulley has been spinning oil out. I compared the numbers on this seal and the numbers on an 850 seal and they are the same except for the rotation. What can I do to keep the oil in the engine. Thanks!

here is a pic of the motor so far:

Nice pic of your engine Thad,   I just used a normal Fiat Uno gasket set and seals with no probs,  to be honest I never gave the seal rotation a thought, are you sure the seal compression spring hasn't popped out.    What carb are you using Thad and is your electric cooling fan pulling or pushing,as there's lots of pluses and minuses in that department.  Regards      Dave.

A few days ago I replaced the seal with a new one and it still leaked. This is why I made the post. Today I replaced the crank pulley/filter with another old one. It seems fine now. No more oil slinging all over the motor!
I have not fabricated the fan yet. I think I want to push it because I want to be able to have heat. The carb that is on there now is just a 30 DICA. There is a wedge plate at the base of the intake to keep things level. There is also an adapter plate behind the water pump.

Thad,i would also put the fuel pump at the bottom of the guard in the same spot.It will last a lot longer. They allways should go as low as possible to remove the risk of burning out from fuel starvation.Grant
