  Correct. The engine shown is a Fiat 850 843cc type engine block, with a Fiat 850 (or 127/A112) cylinder head, Fiat 850 carburetor (Weber 30DIC), Fiat 850 903cc type alloy oil pan, Fiat 127/early A112 intake manifold & an aftermarket Triger/Abarth cogged drive-belt kit (replaces timing chain/gears & cover).

  #4146347 is one of the Fiat 850 part numbers for the 843cc engine block, though the actual casting number (cast into the exhaust side of the engine) is often different by a few numbers.

  The only thing I see remotely related to an Abarth 750 engine (or the year 1958) would be the Fiat 600/D coolant outlet pipe seen on the top/right corner of the engine, though the Abarth 750 unit often had a temp sensor installed (for the temp gauge).

  So Lescol, what's the real story on this? :? 4,000Euros is a hefty price for a Fiat 850 engine!

Many thanks for the comments I do appreciate them. The pleasure of being a member of a forum such as this one is that you can get a lot of real information. One of the reasons I attached the photograph was my suspicion of the infomation I was told when I bought the car. This engine came as a spare with a 1958 double bubble and I was informed that the engine in the car was a 903cc unit and the spare a 750cc. I have confirmation that the owner before the last one also thought that it was a 750cc unit. I sold the car so either the engine in the double bubble was the 750cc or more likely, from other comments I have had, that suggests that neither engine was a 750cc unit.
So I will now withdraw the engine and will change the advert to your description. the casting number in the head is 4183558, engine block 4146348, sump 4191477, the carb is Weber 30 DICA.

  To properly identify the exact type of Fiat 850 engine that this is, take a look at the numbers/letters that are stamped into the face of the engine block on the timing chain (belt) end. These will be stamped either in the top/left corner (to the left of the engine mounting bracket) or in the bottom/right corner (below the generator mounting studs). Look for numbers like 100G, 100GC or 100GS followed by 000 or 040. There will also be a serial number stamped below this.

To ID the cylinder head, look for similar numbers where you saw the casting #4183558 - most likely it'll be something like 100GC or 100GBC.

  The sump & the 30dica carb are definitely from the 903cc Fiat 850 engine (1968-on in Europe, 1970-73 in the USA).

Here are some photos of what a 750 Mille Miglia engine should look like. You can see it is an early block with the engine number stamped on the front of the block and Abarth and Mille Miglia stamped on the highly polished steel crankshaft. The last photo is of a plain old 600D bottom end; when compared to the Abarth engine you really can appreciate the little jewel that the Abarth engine is.  The Mille Miglia also had polished rods and larger 10mm headbolts that are stamped Abarth on the top. It also uses a different intake manifold and Weber carburetor.
